RAI SHIELD AND ROOSTER TROPHY REVIEW

Nelson Bays J grade won the Russ Rhodes Rooster trophy 15 matches to 1. Our J graders are all very strong and reflects the effort put into junior coaching in clubs and J grade tournaments. The Nelson Rai team won the shield for 5th time in a row, winning 9 matches to 7. The Nelson Bays boys were our strength winning 7 of the 9 matches, as our girls struggled against a stronger Marlborough team picking up only 2 matches. It was an awesome day, thanks to Dave Heyward, Wayne Lamb, Shona Seymour and Kay Taylor for looking after all the teams on the day.

HEAD J GRADE ROOKIE SERIES POINTS

Juniors

Junior squash is very strong in the Nelson district, with over 150 graded juniors. These are the competitive players, who play tournaments and interclub.

As an introduction to the game go down to your nearest club on the junior club nights and you will be introduced to the game. Rackets and eyewear can be supplied, just have clean non-marking shoes to wear on court.

Eyeware is required to be worn at all junior events so it is imperative that all juniors get practiced using the eye protection.
